Soma is a muscle relaxer that is used in conjunction with rest, physical therapy and other health measures to help relax muscles and relieve pain. This medication comes in pill form and is taken by mouth three times a day and again before you go to sleep. As with many other oral medications, Soma can cause an upset stomach so it is important to take this medication with food or milk.

This drug can cause a number of side effects which are relatively mild. Some of the known possible effects are drowsiness, becoming dizzy or clumsy, headache, increased heart rate, vomiting and skin rash. Drowsiness, dizziness and clumsiness are common of all muscle relaxant medications and can almost be expected when taking this drug. For this reason, it is very important not to drive or operate dangerous machinery because you are at an increased risk for accidents. Headache is often pretty common with any type of medication and staying hydrated will help ease the pain. If a headache becomes too much to bare or is extremely prolonged you will want to contact a doctor to make sure everything is normal. Vomiting is a common side effect of oral medications because they often cause an upset stomach. If you take this medication on an empty stomach and/or you have a weak stomach you might experience some vomiting. Once again, if the vomiting is prolonged you will want to seek medical attention because you could become dehydrated or the medicine might be rendered ineffective. Skin rash is often an allergic response to medication and unless it is very severe it will probably go away after the medication is stopped.

Some can also cause some more serious side effects which are rare but if experienced call for immediate medical advice. These serious and dangerous side effects are difficulty breathing, fever, weakness, and burning of the eyes. If any or all of these side effects occur you need to contact your doctor immediately or visit your local emergency room. You or your doctor will also need to send an adverse effect notice to the FDA as soon as possible.

The most serious side effect of Some is in the case of an overdose where the person stops breathing. If you or someone you know take too many Some for whatever reason you need to call 911 immediately. Soma, like any other prescription drug, is very dangerous and possible life threatening, if not taken correctly.
